A Targa-Topped Classic with Soul — Reviving a ’90s Icon, One Bolt at a Time
After gaining some experience with project cars, I began looking for something unique to add to my fleet—a daily driver with character, reliability, and long-term potential. That search led me to a 1994 Honda Del Sol Si. I had always appreciated its quirky '90s design, but what really stood out was the factory targa top, a rare and standout feature that made the car feel like a blend between a coupe, roadster, and convertible.
With just over 140,000 miles at the time of purchase, the car had solid bones and was well-preserved for its age—an increasingly rare find as most Del Sols today are either heavily modified or neglected. While it’s currently a work in progress, this car has already proven itself to be a fun and practical platform.
It’s light, responsive, and full of personality—exactly the kind of vehicle I enjoy bringing back to life. As I continue to work on it, the Del Sol has become more than just a daily—it’s a statement piece in my collection and a reminder of Honda’s golden era of design and engineering.
More to come as the restoration continues!
